After 30 years in strategy, I can tell you the success of a business rarely hinges on the Promotion. It hinges on the alignment of the other three:
Product: Is it the definitive solution to a high-value problem?
Price: Does it accurately validate the inherent value of the Product? (Price is a statement, not a number.)
* Place: Does the distribution channel reinforce the Price and brand perception?
When these three Ps are tight, Promotion becomes effortless communication, not aggressive selling. A single weak link breaks the entire revenue system.
